Dennis Orcollo (PHI) 5-9 Yang Ching Shun (TPE)

The second semifinal match-up was a much anticipated clash between Asia's two ‘money game kings'.

Orcollo and Yang's rivalry dates back to Penang where the Taiwanese edged out the Filipino, 9-7 before Orcollo exacting revenge in Guangzhou with a brilliant display to knock Yang out.

Both players finished the preliminary round high on confidence with Orcollo finishing Group A runner-up while Yang topped Group B.

Things went as predicted with a tight game from the start with neither player willing to go for broke early on.

Tension filled the air and the players showed it when Yang committed an error on the 3rd rack before Orcollo followed suit on the 4th.

2-2 was the score line at that stage and the pressure was unrelenting with Orcollo's break and run out tying it all up at 4-4.

Just like two rhinoceros in the wild, pensively waiting for a wrong move from the other before going in for the kill, Yang got his chance at 5-5 when Orcollo succumbed to the intense pressure.

The Taiwanese swooped in with eagle-eye precision to send WPA's No.1 ranked player, Orcollo home with four straight racks to set up a grand final with his close friend and compatriot, the WPA 2005 9-ball World Champion, Wu Chia Ching.
